Getting started

• Your Operations (Ops) level gates everything. Buildings, ship tiers and research all tie back to Ops, so grow it steadily while keeping your economy and ships in step.
• Learn the resources. Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium are your core currencies, backed by raw ores you mine, while Latinum is the premium currency to spend carefully.
• Know your ship classes. Survey ships mine, and the combat ships form a triangle: Interceptors beat Explorers, Explorers beat Battleships, and Battleships beat Interceptors. Always send the right hull against the right target.
• Follow the story missions. The main mission chain guides your early progression and hands out ship blueprints, officers and resources.

• Build early officer crews around synergy. Captain maneuvers and officer abilities stack, so pair officers whose bonuses reinforce a single goal, such as mining protection, hostile grinding or PvP.
• Chase named crews from missions and events rather than randomly leveling every officer you own.
• Upgrade ship tiers before rushing new hulls. A fully tiered-up ship with the right crew usually outperforms a shiny higher-tier ship you cannot yet crew or repair.

Progression and free-to-play tips

• Pick one faction to grind reputation with and complete its faction missions and hostiles; you do not need to max all three at once.
• Do not rush Ops. An over-leveled base with weak ships and thin research makes you a target and slows your economy.
• Keep miners active around the clock. Idle mining nodes are wasted resources; park survey ships before you log off.
• Join an active alliance. Alliance help, Armada bosses and shared stores are among the biggest free boosts in the game.
• Spend Latinum sparingly, mostly on speedups during construction events and on key officer shards.
• Complete daily goals and events. Steady daily rewards and event milestones are where most of your free resources, blueprints and officer shards actually come from.

Mistakes to avoid

• Attacking a faction you want reputation with. Killing Federation, Klingon or Romulan ships tanks that faction's standing and locks you out of its rewards.
• Sending the wrong ship class into battle. Ignoring the combat triangle turns easy wins into lost ships.
• Leaving your base unshielded. Keep a peace shield up when you are offline or holding lots of raw resources.
• Neglecting officer promotions. Under-ranked officers cap your crew power more than most players realize.
• Ignoring research. Economy and combat research quietly compound; falling behind here is hard to recover from.
